Course title: Fast Algorithms for Optimization Problems in Image Processing

Objective of the course: The objective of this course is to introduce basic tools in convex analysis and corresponding numerical algorithms for senior undergraduate students and graduate students and to prepare them to meet the future scientific and technological challenges in the area of mathematical imaging sciences.
Content of the course:convex functions, subdifferential, conjugate function, proximity operator, Moreau envelope, non-expansive operator, and Nesterov algorithm
Schedule of the course:There are five lectures. The first lecture will be given by Yuesheng Xu on June 1st and the rest will be presented by Lixin Shen on June 8, 13, 15, 20.
