Topic: On the writing of mathematical papers in English

Abstract:

In the first part of the talk I will discuss certain aspects of English style and grammar that often create difficulties for native Chinese speakers.

In the second part I will present concrete suggestions on how to write a good mathematical paper (especially one that is intended for submission to a top journal). They will include a discussion of the importance of the Abstract and the Introduction, as well as practical suggestions on how to make a good paper even better. I will illustrate this by numerous concrete examples.
